Veteran Bengali and Bollywood actress Mithu Mukherjee passed away on September 21, 2026, at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai at the age of 71 after a battle with cancer. Often hailed as the "Rekha of Bengali Cinema," she built a memorable career spanning nearly 18 years.
Mithu Mukherjee made her acting debut at the young age of 17 in the 1972 Bengali film Shesh Parba. In Bollywood, she showcased her talent in films such as Shatrughan Sinha’s Khan Dost, Vinod Mehra’s Safed Jhooth, Dillagi, and Do Ladke Dono Kadke.
