On Monday, television lost a great actor, Dinesh Phadnis, who played Freddy in the popular crime series 'CID.' He passed away in Mumbai at the age of 57 due to complications from multi-organ failure. The actor was admitted to Tunga Hospital in Mumbai and received ventilator support but couldn't overcome the critical condition. The cremation is scheduled for today.
Dinesh Phadnis' colleague from 'CID,' Dayanand Shetty, confirmed the sad news, saying, "It's true that he is not with us anymore. It happened around 12:08 am. I am at his residence. The final ceremonies will take place today at the Daulat Nagar crematorium. Almost everyone from the CID team is present." Shetty mentioned that the actor was taken off the ventilator due to complications from multi-organ failure.
Apart from his role as Inspector Fredericks in 'CID,' Phadnis also contributed as a writer to several episodes. In the film industry, he played minor roles in movies like 'Sarfarosh' and 'Super 30.'
CID, an Indian police procedural TV series, aired on Sony Entertainment Television for two decades starting in 1998. Created by BP Singh, the show featured actors like Shivaji Satam, Aditya Srivastava, Dayanand Shetty, Dinesh Phadnis, and Narendra Gupta in key roles.
