Miss Asia/fitness Athlete Akanksha Singh with sister Trainer/Nutrionist Apeksha Pundir were on the roads interacting with locals to talk about mental health & if required urged them to seek professional help. The source of inspiration is there mother who was a patient of depression but is recovered through proper treatment.
Akanksha Singh who has been awarded with the runners up title of Miss Asia Award India 2017 & also won many fitness competitions. She is an actor, fitness athlete & activist. She walked/ran for 12hour non stop on treadmill in Dehradun for mental health awareness & also did a fist bump movement where she interacted with people in various places in Hyderabad and spoke about mental health issues.
This time she is doing it in Mumbai & says "In today's world, mental health is one of the most growing concerns, especially among youth. In our country, mental health issues like depression are still considered taboo. It is high time we need to change this mindset of people and undertake initiatives to spread awareness regarding mental health among the masses. I hope that through this I can do justice on my part towards spreading awareness regarding mental health!".
She knows first hand how depression not only affects the patient itself but the family members too as her mother went through depression for over a decade and with proper treatment & medication her mother is fine now.
Akanksha has walked the ramp for numerous renowned designers. She is the Brand Ambassador of a Canadian-based company and has done numerous TVCs. She will be starring in an upcoming Telugu film.
